Dominica is located between the islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe. The island is a former British colony and English is its main language unlike the two islands which it is located between which speaks French and are colonies of France. The island has distinct blend of African heritage and Caribs heritage who are some of the few remain indigenous settlers to the Caribbean since the time of Columbus.

The island is one of Eco-tourism destinations top in the Caribbean. Dominica is volcanic and has one of the largest boiling lakes in the world.
